    Bremer Cup Formats & Scoring

    Formats

⛳ 2-Person Golf Scramble Rules (with Handicap, Simplified)

    Both Players Tee Off

    • Each player hits a tee shot on every hole.

    Choose the Best Shot

    • Pick the better of the two shots (distance or position).

    • Mark that spot.

Both Hit from the Chosen Spot

    • Both players hit their next shot from the same spot.

    • Repeat this until the ball is holed.

    Play in Any Order

    • Players can hit in any order each time—flexible and strategic.

    Ball Placement Rules

    • Place within 1 club length (no closer to the hole).

    • Stay in the same lie (fairway stays fairway, rough stays rough, etc.).

    On the Green

    • Place within 1 putter-head length of the chosen ball (no closer).

    🧮 Handicap Rules for Scramble

    Calculate Team Handicap

    Team Handicap = (Player A’s handicap × 35%) + (Player B’s handicap × 15%)

    Apply to Final Score

    • Subtract the team handicap from the total scramble score at the end of the round.

🏆 Fourball Golf Match – Tournament Rules Summary

    👥 Format

    • Two-player teams.

    • Each golfer plays their own ball (4 balls in play per hole).

    🏌️ Scoring

    • On each hole, the lowest score between teammates is the team’s score.

      • Match Play: Competing hole-by-hole; win, lose, or halve each hole.

📉 Handicaps (Stroke Play or Match Play)

    • Each player uses their full course handicap.

    • Match Play:

      • The lowest handicap player plays off scratch.

      • Other players get the difference between their handicap and the lowest, applied on appropriate holes.

🏌️‍♂️ Singles Match Play – Tournament Rules Summary

    ⚔️ Format

    • One player vs. one player.

    • Played hole-by-hole—whoever wins the most holes, wins the match.

    🏆 Scoring

    • Win a hole: Player with the lowest score on the hole.

    • Halve a hole: Same score by both players.

    • Win the match: Be ahead by more holes than remain to play
      (e.g., 3 up with 2 holes left = “3 & 2” win).

    📉 Handicaps

    • Optional in tournament play.

    • If used:

      • The lower handicap player plays off scratch.

      • The other player gets the difference in strokes.

      • Strokes are applied on holes according to the stroke index (marked on the scorecard).

    ✅ Additional Notes

    • Each hole is its own battle—a blow-up hole only costs one point.

    • No need to hole out if the opponent concedes.

    • Strategy counts—aggressive play is often rewarded. Singles match play is a form of play where a player plays directly against an opponent in a head-to-head match. You win a hole by completing it in the fewest number of net strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played.

*You (or your opponent) may concede a stroke, a hole, or even the match to each other. A concession cannot be taken back or refused. If your next stroke has been conceded, you are permitted to putt out, unless this will help your teammate (For example, by showing them the line for their putt).

    Scoring

Each match is worth 2 points; 1 point for a tie.

Team with the most points after all matches have concluded wins the cup.

Tiebreaker is the lowest team net total strokes.

If there is STILL a tie, we have a full team- "miss and you're out"- putt off. Starting at 4 ft and increasing 2 feet until someone wins. Winner's team wins the cup.
