Bremer Cup Formats & Scoring
Formats
2-Man Scramble (2v2): A scramble format involves 2-person teams where each player on the team hits a tee shot, and then the players decide which shot they like better. The two players then play from that spot. The person who's shot was not taken picks up their ball and moves it to within one club length of the selected spot. Once the spot is selected, both players then play a shot from that spot, and again pick which one they like better. This continues until the hole is finished.
2-Man Best Ball (2v2): "2-Man Best Ball" Teams of 2 play their own golf balls throughout and the lower net score between them on each hole counts as the team score. The team with the lowest net total score after 18 holes wins.
Singles Match Play (1v1): Singles match play is a form of play where a player plays directly against an opponent in a head-to-head match. You win a hole by completing it in the fewest number of net strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played. You (or your opponent) may concede a stroke, a hole, or even the match to each other. A concession cannot be taken back or refused. If your next stroke has been conceded, you are permitted to putt out, unless this will help your teammate (for example, by showing them the line for their putt).
***New this year is the MVP which awards the player with the lowest net score total for the entire weekend some $.
Scoring
Each match is worth 2 points; 1 point for a tie.
Team with the most points after all matches have concluded wins the cup.
The tiebreaker will be the lowest entire team stroke totals for the 18th hole of the final round. If the teams have the same stroke totals again, then the process continues hole by hole; back from 18 to 1 until the tie is broken.
If there is STILL a tie, the entire process repeats for the previous day(s) until the tie is broken.
If there is STILL a tie, we have a full teams, miss and you're out, putt-off. Starting at 4 ft and increasing 2 feet until someone wins. Winners team wins the cup.
