Bremer Cup Formats & Scoring
Formats
2-Man Scramble (2v2): A scramble format involves 2-person teams where each player on the team hits a tee shot, and then the players decide which shot they like better. The person whose shot was not taken picks up their ball and moves it to the selected spot. Both players then play a shot from within a club-length of that spot, and again pick which one they like better. You may not improve your lie within the club length, so if you are in the rough, you must stay in the rough. This continues until the hole is finished. Lowest total net score wins.
Fourball (2v2): In "Fourball" teams of 2 play their own golf balls throughout and the lower net score between them on each hole counts as the team score. The team with the lowest net score on the hole, wins that hole. If it is a tie, then it is a push and there are NO carryovers. This is match-play style.
Singles Match Play (1v1): Singles match play is a form of play where a player plays directly against an opponent in a head-to-head match. You win a hole by completing it in the fewest number of net strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played.
*You (or your opponent) may concede a stroke, a hole, or even the match to each other. A concession cannot be taken back or refused. If your next stroke has been conceded, you are permitted to putt out, unless this will help your teammate (for example, by showing them the line for their putt).
Scoring
Each match is worth 2 points; 1 point for a tie.
Team with the most points after all matches have concluded wins the cup.
Tiebreaker is the lowest team net total strokes.
If there is STILL a tie, we have a full team- miss and you're out- putt off. Starting at 4 ft and increasing 1 foot until someone wins. Winners team wins the cup.
