Bremer Cup Formats & Scoring
Formats
2-Man Scramble - Match Play (2v2): A scramble format involves 2-person teams where each player on the team hits a tee shot, and then the players decide which shot they like better. The person whose shot was not taken picks up their ball and moves it to the selected spot. Both players then play a shot from within a club-length of that spot, and again pick which one they like better. You may not improve your lie within the club length, so if you are in the rough, you must stay in the rough. This continues until the hole is finished. You win a hole by completing it in the fewest number of net strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played. For this event we will use the 35% of the lowest HC on a team, and 15% of the second lowest.
Four-ball - Match Play(2v2): In a match play competition, a four-ball consists of two teams of two players competing directly against each other. All four golfers play their own balls throughout the round; each hole is won by the team whose member has the lowest score. You win a hole by completing it in the fewest number of net strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played.
Singles - Match Play (1v1): Singles match play is a form of play where a player plays directly against an opponent in a head-to-head match. You win a hole by completing it in the fewest number of net strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played.
*You (or your opponent) may concede a stroke, a hole, or even the match to each other. A concession cannot be taken back or refused. If your next stroke has been conceded, you are permitted to putt out, unless this will help your teammate (for example, by showing them the line for their putt).
Scoring
Each match is worth 2 points; 1 point for a tie.
Team with the most points after all matches have concluded wins the cup.
Tiebreaker is the lowest team net total strokes.
If there is STILL a tie, we have a full team- miss and you're out- putt off. Starting at 4 ft and increasing 2 feet until someone wins. Winner's team wins the cup.
